Description
This is a very pretty small Antique Solid Sterling Silver Jewellery or Rings Box from the early 1900s. It’s a smaller size jewellery box and it would be perfect for storing rings or earrings in.nnIt comes in a gift bag and it would be a fantastic and very special present.nnIt was made by well known Silversmiths Mappin & Webb and it was Hallmarked in Birmingham in 1909. The maker’s mark and hallmarks are on the base and the side of the lid.nnThe box is made of shiny Sterling Silver and has a very pretty design to the lid with “Costebelle” engraved in the centre. Costebelle is a lake and a historic villa in Provence, France. It stands on three feet. The hinge works well and the lid lifts to show an interior with a green material lining in the base and a gilded inner lid.nnIt’s in good condition with the silver shiny with just a little tarnish to help show the design. There’s a few tiny dents to the side and one on the lid. The lid closes but doesn’t sit completely flush with the base. This can be seen in the photos.nnThe total weight is 78g. It measures 6cm diameter (2 3/8 inches). The height is 4cm (just over 1 1/2 inches).
